The Truth Is Out There: My Encounter With an Extra-Terrestrial
Okay, not really. But this encounter was as frightening as what I believe an encounter with an alien would be (if not more).
Last night, around 8, I went out to check if my laundry room was free. (FYI- It wasn’t, I will probably forget that fact as the story progresses) Well, I bent down to put my key into the door and felt something hit the back of my head. I freaked out, screamed, and shook my head and batted around in the air around my head. I thought it was probably just a June Bug, which are incredibly stupid creatures and I have run into a few in the last three years of living in San Diego during the summer months. So, I went on with my life. I went back inside, sat down on my couch, and grabbed my computer.
I was watching tv and playing on the computer (probably fb stalking, let’s me honest) when I went to put my hair back into a ponytail. (FYI- I cut my hair really short and if I try to put it into a pony, I have to readjust it every 30 minutes or so because it always falls out- but it looks cute in pigtails!) As I was running my fingers through my hair, I came across a large “chunk” in my hair. I had no idea what it was, so I grabbed it and pulled it out…
IT WAS A FREAKIN’ JUNE BUG! IN MY HAIR! It was a gross brown one, not a fun green-ish one. But don’t get me wrong, I’m grossed out by all of them.
Well, I FLIPPED. I screamed, dropped it on the couch, and jumped up. My computer fell to the ground- thank god it landed on my carpet and not on the edge of my coffee table. I grabbed my RAID, which of course I have out in the living room because I freak out regularly about bugs (any kind of bug) and spray the CRAP out of my couch! Finally I picked it up (dead) with a paper towel. I ran a brush through my hair - just to make sure it didn’t bring friends with it and turned over the couch cushions.
Now I have a strange itchy feeling and keep checking my hair.
I may be traumatized for life.
This is more or less my worst nightmare. Or one of. You deserve a vacation! You should probably come to New York tomorrow.
